back boiler
Date: September 15, 2011 01:34AM
Hi - I only moved in last year and am doing some renovations to the main living room. There is a capped pipe (only about 10cm long) coming out of the side of the chimney breast. I am wondering if this could be part of plumbing for an old back boiler, but there's not really any other evidence for it. Does anyone have a back boiler behind the fireplace? Or does anyone know for sure that they were never put in as part of the original build?

thanks!

Probably too late now. I presume you already got the answer. It's a gas connection for a gas fire if required.
