Tell the Gardai
Date: September 30, 2013 02:22AM
Thankfully we live on an estate that has very little anti-social behaviour, and we'd all like to keep it that way.

With the closure of Stepaside Garda station, several residents have noticed a drop off in Garda patrols in the neighbourhood. Garda resources are generally allocated based on need, and that need is based on reports received by them.

Therefore its vital that if any resident sees any public order offences or anti-social behaviour, report it to Dundrum Garda Station, or if its more serious, ring 999. Even if you think Gardai won't attend or won't be able to react in time (if the offenders have left the estate), its still vital that a report is made to Gardai, as this adds to their knowledge of what is happening in each area, and they can allocate resources accordingly.

If residents don't tell the Gardai, they won't know about it, so please make that call.
