Insulation
Date: February 20, 2012 01:36AM
Hi all,

I have recently moved into a house in Sandyford Hall, and I am finding that the house is hard to keep warm. I'd be grateful for any tips from others in the estate on what insulation solutions have worked well to make for a cosier house?

Thanks,
Merlin

Re: Insulation

Last Easter (2011) we got our attic insulated by the folks at Future Foam [futurefoam.ie].
As we already have our attic converted into a bedroom, we found that the wind was howling through the storage areas at the sides of the bedroom area prior to this job.
Since getting the Future foam stuff in there (it's like a spray-on insulation that they shape around the inside roof beams, etc.) we have noticed a HUGE difference in the room temperatures of our upstairs bedrooms- much warmer up there, so I reckon it has been majorly worthwhile.
The guys were super-helpful when the came to us, and we didn't even have to clear out every scrap in the storage spaces, only the items near the timber roof frames, so this was also great.
Hope this helps! smiling smiley
