Council Offers Free Recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipme

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is delighted to announce that during November residents can avail of free recycling of any waste with a plug or battery on Saturday mornings from 9am – 1pm. In conjunction with WEEE Ireland and Rehab Recycling, cages will be provided in four different locations for the public to bring waste electrical and electronic items for recycling.



Assistance will be given with off-loading heavy appliances or local collections on the morning if required. These events will take place in Moreen, Sandyford on November 8th; Eden Park, Glasthule on November 15th; Rosemount, Dundrum on November 22nd; and Meadowlands, Mountown on November 29th 2008

According to Margaret Coles, Green Business Officer with the Council’s Environment Department, “The Council is pleased to work in partnership with local communities and WEEE Ireland to recycle unwanted electrical items locally for residents but does request that people availing of this service bring their waste only between 9am – 1pm to the selected locations. ”
